The Day of Blessing and Death

Genesis 47:27 – 50:14 Not to be morbid, but “what would you like your death to look like?” The Bible describes countless deaths – and the passing of the patriarch Jacob is detailed in fine details, filled with sorrow, hope, and love. Jacob, also known as Israel is an example and exhortation for all of us to have a God-given vision that will not only give meaning to our life, but also meaning and blessings in our death. It is this kind of vision that gives power to our faith, zest for our life, and greater longing for heaven. Because of his godly vision Jacob’s death was a blessing to countless people – and ours can be as well.
