We have a dedicated group of about 25 youth, ages 14-17, that attend Sunday School and fellowship together every Friday night in the Act4Christ youth ministry to participate in bible study and various other activities and events. Always active and involved, as they continue to grow as Christians and live out their faith, they participate in a sundry of services and activities such as an annual summer and winter retreat, short-term mission trips in the U.S. and Mexico, and Gleanings for the Hungry. CCCTO focuses on making disciples of our youth and equipping them to live out their faith. As a special focus, we have recently created a program to teach college bound high school seniors 50 things to know before going to college.
Our Children Ministry during Sunday Service averages about 20 kids in attendance and every second Sunday of the month our children join the English service for the first 10-15 minutes of worship where our English pastor teaches them about a verse of scripture and invites their participation as he explains the meaning and importance of the verse. We endearingly refer to this as our Family Sunday time and immensely enjoy the brilliant and honest responses from our children as they listen and learn. CCCTO hosts such treasured and time-honored children’s programs such as VBS and AWANA and our very own Children’s Choir which is comprised of about 15 children at present.
We prize and cherish our youth and children and our congregation holds all programs associated with these 2 ministries in high esteem and priority. In different ways, our youth and children are woven into our English service on Sundays which provides the English pastor the unique opportunity to preach mightily and relevantly to a multi-generational congregation from Chinese immigrant, Chinese American, and Western backgrounds.
